Frozen PCV for Cadillac/GM

This bulletin applies to 2002-2014 Cadillac Escalade vehicles in addition to a number of 2002-2018 GM vehicles. Some customers may note that an engine oil leak is noticed shortly after a cold start when low ambient temperatures are present (approximately below 10 degrees F) or after excessive short trip drive cycles. If an oil leak from the rear main seal is noticed, this may be the result of a frozen PCV system and excessive crankcase pressure. If this concern is encountered, clean the area of the oil leak and dry the PCV hoses and replace the oil fill cap with P/N 12589430 (vented oil fill cap) to prevent a reoccurrence.
