Introducing the Manager SE-ProDemand Interface

Introducing the Manager SE-ProDemand Interface

Since the latest release of Manager/Manager Plus SE™ (6.4e) provides — for the first time! — an interface to our ProDemand™ reference repair information, this would be a good time to tell you more about it and the benefits of having these two resources integrated.

The Repair Information icon (above) passes year/make/model from the Manager SE vehicle record to ProDemand so that it can display the corresponding information for that vehicle. ProDemand opens in your default browser, which can be Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome (nice to have options). You then select information modules (Codes, Components, Service Manual, SureTrack & Vintage) as you would with stand-alone ProDemand. Close the browser when you’re finished.

As for your parts, labor, maintenance, fluids and TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) needs, the Manager SE toolbar buttons (above) will continue to be used; they now point to ProDemand. The new viewer opens quickly and is very simple to navigate. It’s easy to locate the industry standard labor times and OEM parts you need by either service category or search. When you use these tools, your labor selection/search is carried over to parts, saving you time.

Maintenance provides the ability to quickly transfer the service labor time back to Manager SE’s Order screen as a line item. You may also transfer optional Service Detail notes to appear in SE’s Labor-Work Performed field to print on technician worksheets and your customer’s invoice (to show all you did in the service). Fluids may be transferred to SE with quantities and descriptions appearing as line item(s).

Technical Service Bulletins may be located with category and search tools, then read on screen in the ProDemand viewer or “transferred” to your Manager SE Order screen — for your internal reference only when researching previous invoices in the History tab at some future date.

This is also a good time to mention that with the new Manager SE 6.4e update, we are Windows 8 compatible as well. Till next time, see you on the Shop Management Forum: www.managerforum.net.
