Mitchell 1 TruckSeries Wiring Diagrams - How to Read ThemOne of the many helpful features truck technicians appreciate about TruckSeries is the color wiring diagrams. For many technicians, a wiring diagram will be the key element in diagnosing and repairing electrical concerns. In some cases, a wiring diagram will be the only information needed. With that being said, there may be some things you may not know about your Mitchell 1 wiring diagrams which can prove to be very helpful.

For instance, did you know that the various lines and squiggles inside the component drawings of the diagrams are not just decorations to make the diagrams look cool? Those symbols have meaning.

In the “Repair” module in TruckSeries, there is a title listed under Wiring Diagrams called “USING MITCHELL’S SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS”. Go ahead and open it up; I’ll wait while you get there.

You will see a couple of images that contain the various symbols used within Mitchell 1 wiring diagrams and what those symbols mean. Also in the article, you will find other useful information about wiring diagram color abbreviations and how various components are named within the diagrams.
