POWAY, California (November 1, 2005) – With the introduction of OnDemand5 Repair version 5.8, Mitchell 1 continues its tradition of delivering cutting edge technology that helps maximize technician efficiency by minimizing the diagnostic effort. The new edition of the industry standard builds on the landmark full-color wiring diagrams found in previous versions and now offers CircuitSelect – a powerful circuit isolation tool that allows users to pinpoint and diagnose electrical problems faster than ever.
OnDemand5 Version 5.8 includes extensive upgrades and usability enhancements that make it the industry’s most streamlined and comprehensive estimating and repair database available today.
“Mitchell 1’s new CircuitSelect innovation will further simplify electrical problem-solving for today’s technician.” said Matt Krimple, director of product management for Mitchell 1. “Saving repair time is critical to improving a shop’s operation and maximizing bottom line profits.”
The new OnDemand5 Version 5.8 full spectrum of functionalities including:
CircuitSelect- Builds upon the Scalable Vector Graphic (SVG) color wiring diagrams already in the product. With CircuitSelect, users can highlight the wires important to a specific diagnosis to facilitate problem solving. CircuitSelect also allows OnDemand5 users to hide wires they don’t want to see, giving them the ability to simplify even the most complex problem. Using different colors, users can highlight wires leading to power sources and grounds that control current flow, relays, modules and switches. The color-coded diagrams allow users to locate the power and ground sources at a quick glance and gain a better understanding of which components comprise the system and how and where they are connected.
Transmission Information -OnDemand5 now offers transmission overhaul articles as well as full-color hydraulic flow diagrams. The section includes a comprehensive database of automatic and manual transmission information complete with full-color oil circuit diagrams redrawn from factory specifications. When used in combination with the diagnostic charts, these service “maps” make troubleshooting and testing faster and easier.
Inline Graphics– Users now get incremental inline graphics support with this and future releases. The graphics are displayed in each Repair Article allowing users to link to a graphic by clicking on the thumbnail image.
VIN Decoding and How to Write An Estimate – More articles have been added to the help system and, with just a click on the VIN folder, users can find information on how to interpret VIN information.
