Corrosion is a horrible monster. But never more insidious than when it affects the wiring. SureTrack community member carls4460 had a Ford F350 Super Duty truck that was towed in for a no-start condition. They thought they found the cause but that didn’t fix it. They posed the question to the community, and with the help of fellow community member Poppyshop and others, they were able to resolve the issue quickly.

2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty XL 6.2L

No start, no fuel pressure, repaired wiring.

Customer states that truck will not start.

Diagnostic Steps Performed/Parts Replaced
Vehicle was towed in with a crank, no start condition. DTC showed P162F. Verified it had spark but found no fuel pressure. Verified we had 12 volts at the fuel pump and driver module. Tapped on the tank and it started and ran for a short period of time. Installed new factory Ford fuel pump and driver module. Attempted to start, it started and ran for 5 to 10 seconds then died. We now have only 5 volts at both the pump and driver module. Traced the wire (violet and green) from the driver module to the battery junction box (under the hood) and it has good continuity. Have only 5 volts coming out of the junction box. Turned on the fuel pump with scan tool and there was no voltage change, unknown if it actually did turn it on. Suggestions, ideas? Has anyone run into this problem? We are worse off than we were before we replaced the fuel pump/driver module.

Check voltage at fuse F75, if you have 12V there you can wire in new relay.

Found corrosion on several wires under power junction box under the hood.

Cleaned and treated power junction box and wires with Stabilant 22. Reattached all of the wires and now have 12 Volts on all correct wires. Vehicle now starts and runs as it should.
