Mitchell 1 will sponsor a free webinar on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. EST titled, “Exploring the ‘E’ in EV,” which will highlight testing and inspection techniques for high voltage battery systems in electric vehicles and hybrid systems.
Hosted by Peter Meier, Motor Age’s group technical editor and director of training, and G. Jerry Truglia of Technician’s Service Training (TST), the webinar will walk attendees through the intricacies of the high voltage electric powertrain, starting with the high voltage (HV) battery pack all the way to the drive wheels.
They will discuss common issues that technicians may encounter as they expand their service capabilities to meet the demands of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV).
“Don’t leave money on the table,” said Meier. “Many hybrids on the road right now need battery inspection and service – just one example of the service revenue that technicians should be putting in their pockets. However, they can’t start collecting it until they are trained on these systems and learn the safety precautions they need to follow and implement in their own businesses.
