Modern vehicles contain many modules that control the operation of most systems. When one goes out, or has an issue, it can cause multiple problems. SureTrack community member tchrono had a Mitsubishi Endeavor in their shop that had a no-start condition but once they were able to get it to start, they found multiple electrical problems. They posed the question to the community, and with the help of fellow community member Albanymitsu and others, they were able to resolve the issue quickly.

The following Community Fix summarizes the interaction between members of the community that led to the solution.

Vehicle
2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor LS 3.8L

Title
All power shuts off, replaced ETACS ECU

Complaint
Customer states that vehicle will not start.

Diagnostic Steps Performed/Parts Replaced
Confirmed vehicle would not start. Bypassed alarm system and vehicle starts and runs fine. When you take the key out of the ignition, all power is gone. The dome lights don’t turn on, hazards will not flash, headlights wont turn on. Checked the fuses for the headlamps where switch from power to ground and they are good. Not sure what could be shutting off the power

Best Answer from Community Member Albanymitsu
Start with RELAY-ECU, and possibly an ETACS-ECU (Electronic Total Automotive Control System). ETACS will require VIN writing and key programming.

Cause
Found that the ETACS ECU was at fault.

Correction
Replaced ETACS ECU, programmed VIN and keys and vehicle now starts and power to lights and accessories is restored.
