The 2023 Frost & Sullivan Award for TruckSeries Software Reinforces our Customer-First Commitment

(Editor’s note: This is part of a series highlighting Mitchell 1’s innovations throughout the decades.)

Whenever you are recognized and praised for an accomplishment, your self-esteem goes up, along with your eagerness to do even better. Whether it’s that gold-star pressed on an assignment in grade school or accolades on a team project at work, recognition is always appreciated and boosts our morale.

The same holds true for the recognition we received from Frost & Sullivan for our TruckSeries repair information product. Mitchell 1 recently received the 2023 North American Technology Innovation Leadership Award based on Frost & Sullivan’s research of the medium/heavy truck aftermarket industry. As noted in their award summary, “The company is North America’s top diagnostic and repair software supplier for automotive service shops including large truck fleets and repair shops.”

Stephen Spivey, program manager at Frost & Sullivan added, “Mitchell 1’s TruckSeries developers and product managers are also automotive and truck enthusiasts that work directly with customers to continually improve the products. This allows them to provide superior customer service compared to other aftermarket software solutions.”

Mitchell 1 is grateful and encouraged in being recognized by Frost & Sullivan for this innovation award. Moreover, we are grateful and encouraged by the thousands of service professionals who, day in and day out turn to Mitchell 1’s shop solutions. That, my friends, is recognition that we at Mitchell 1 will always value our customers, and why we’ve continued to innovate for over a century.

Celebrating Excellence for Over 100 Years

Ahead of the curve in vehicle repair since 1918, Mitchell 1 brings a unique historical perspective, unparalleled industry expertise, and dedication to innovation and technology advancements to the thousands of technicians and shops we serve.

Since our beginnings, Mitchell 1 has received recognition from technicians in the field as a valued provider of vehicle service solutions. Practically new to the motorized world, Reed Electrical Manuals – the precursor to Mitchell 1 – published the first-ever specs and diagrams of automobile electrical systems.

This tradition of innovation continued in 1946, when Glenn Mitchell published Mitchell Manuals, creating the first-ever collision estimate guides to feature parts numbers, illustrations and prices. As time passed, Mitchell 1 continued to bring out new features and information that helped make technicians and shops even better.

In 1989, Mitchell 1, then named Mitchell-Repair, moved into the digital realm with software ON-DEMAND on CD-ROM. Then, in 2001, the newly-branded Mitchell 1 introduced the OnDemand5™ SaaS Web-based software. Mitchell 1 continued its desire to be innovative and excel as the brand of choice in the industry.

Breaking into the Commercial Truck World

Mitchell 1 expanded into the commercial truck world with the release of Tractor-Trailer.net in 2006. While Mitchell 1 was well known in the automotive industry, the question most often heard at trucking trade show events was, “Who or what is Mitchell 1?”

Being the new kid on the block proved eye-opening after the notoriety in the automotive arena; we were clearly not the belle of the ball. Mitchell 1 needed to earn the respect for recognition in the trucking industry.

Since the launch of Tractor-Trailer.net, Mitchell 1 continues to develop and provide solutions to the heavy-duty market. The people who make up the Mitchell 1 team take pride in offering innovative solutions that earn the industry’s respect. It’s our desire to not only be the brand of choice but to be a partner with the shop.
