Mitchell 1 Sponsors Upcoming Motor Age Webinar

Technicians Will Learn What to Check Before Replacing an ECM

Mitchell 1 will sponsor a free webinar on Saturday, July 30, at 6  p.m. ET entitled, “Keeping the Smoke in the Engine Control Module (ECM)! What to Check Before You Replace it!”

Hosted by Motor Age’s Group Technical Editor and Director of Training Peter Meier and G. Jerry Truglia of Technician’s Service Training (TST), the webinar will show technicians the tests and checks they must perform to verify the faulty ECM – the most expensive fuse on the car – to ensure that the new one will work as designed.

“Have you ever gotten to the end of a 15-page troubleshooting flowchart and found that the last step was to replace the ECM? Does it make you a little nervous to replace an expensive component that you aren’t 100% sure is the correct fix?,” said Meier.

“And if you install a new ECM, you just might damage the new one if you didn’t find the REASON the original ECM went bad in the first place! “To avoid that possibility, join us on our upcoming webinar to learn what to check before replacing the ECM.”
