Kristy LaPage from Mitchell 1 Joins Associates Panel at TMC 2021 Fall Meeting

Kristy LaPage, business manager of commercial vehicles for Mitchell 1 will be participating in a panel discussion scheduled for TMC’s General Associates meeting during the Council’s 2021 Fall Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition, scheduled for Monday, September 13 at 4:00 p.m. at the Huntington Convention Center, Cleveland, OH.

The associates panel has been organized by Jill Gingrich, vice president and managing director at WheelTime, with planning assistance from Anita Byrne, chairman of study group secretaries at TMC. Gingrich also serves on TMC’s Board of Directors as chairman of associates. The panel’s makeup including LaPage from Mitchell 1; Erin Brennan, Goodheart-Willcox; Ashley Schimmel, TRANSTEX; and Arica Jackson, UPS reflect the increasing membership of women in TMC as well as their influence in setting the direction for the council as the industry moves forward.

The panel, moderated by Byrne, will discuss how associate members, such as Mitchell 1, benefit from their TMC membership and their participation in the events and meetings held during the council’s semi-annual conferences. The panel will have excellent insight into how women new to the council can really benefit from their membership in building solid relationships within the trucking industry as well as how employers can recruit women to join the industry.

“I’m honored to be chosen to participate on this panel and appreciate the invitation,” commented LaPage. “TMC has allowed me to grow professionally by providing an atmosphere of collaboration and networking opportunities that I would not otherwise have been able to cultivate on my own. For Mitchell 1, our TMC membership has certainly allowed the company to build relationships with our customers and industry leaders, as well as take away insights that help us continue as a valued supplier to the industry, developing products that empower truck repair professionals to work more efficiently. I’m delighted to share that experience with others.” LaPage has been a TMC member since 2012 and has attended the show since 2006.

Mitchell 1 entered the commercial vehicle industry in 1986 when they added Technical Service Bulletins for Medium & Heavy-Duty trucks after a century providing information solutions for automotive professionals. In 2006 they launched their web-based Tractor-Trailer.net with online repair information for heavy duty vehicles. They joined TMC in 2005 and immediately immersed themselves in the Technician Skills contests. They have been managing the Service Information skills station at TMC SuperTech since the initial competition launched in 2005 and have been instrumental in setting up these stations at many state competitions.
