Welcome to Factoid Friday!

Answer the Factoid question correctly and win a $25 Amazon gift card!

Welcome to Factoid Friday, a guessing game that blends a twist of trivia with an interactive component and features some of the iconic pieces of automotive history from the Mitchell 1 Library. And to keep things interesting, we even offer a prize!

We stepped into the “Way Back Machine” for this Factoid Friday post, going directly to the oldest wiring diagram in the Mitchell 1 library. One look at the diagram below and you can see that wiring diagrams have come a very long way. To see the latest OEM wiring diagrams, you just need to log in to ProDemand™. You’ll find the industry’s best collection of scalable, full-color wiring diagrams covering a wide range of makes and models. If you like antiques, we’ve also got plenty of older wiring diagrams — going back to 1960 — in the Vintage module in ProDemand.

Here’s your Factoid question:
What is the year and make of the vehicle to which the wiring diagram below belongs?  (click thumbnail to enlarge the image.)

Hint: This vehicle brand still exists and this diagram came from the National Service Manual of Starting, Lighting and Ignition, published by the National Automotive Service. Also check the Mitchell 1 Twitter feed (using the hashtag #M1FactoidFriday) over the next week for additional hints:

Whoever has the closest answer will win a $25 gift card. Deadline to answer is 5:00 p.m. (Pacific) on Friday, August 1, 2014. You only get one guess, so make it a good one. In the case of a tie, the winner will be selected randomly from among those who submitted correct answers. We will provide the answer and announce the winner right here in a future blog post, so stay tuned!

Submit your answer below in the “Leave a Comment” section. (By entering, you agree to have your name published if you have the winning guess. Your contact information will not be published, and will only be used to contact you to arrange for delivery of the prize. Mitchell 1 and Snap-on employees, contractors and their families are welcome to participate, but are not eligible to win the prize. Void where prohibited.) Good luck!

The deadline to enter this contest has expired. CLICK to see the answer. Check back next month for another Factoid Friday!
