Engage Customers with Facebook Automatic Replies

Facebook has recently added a new “Very Responsive” badge for business pages that respond to 90% of their messages within 15 minutes.

If you’re like most business owners, you probably don’t have the time to check your Facebook page that often. You’re already answering phone calls and emails, and assisting customers in your shop — all while you and your team are also working on vehicles!

Here’s a quick tip that can help you keep up with your Facebook messages:  Set up an automatic response to all Facebook messages. The steps below will help you do so, and it only takes a few minutes!

Log into your Facebook page and click on Settings at the top right. Then, click on Messaging on the left side. See below:



From there you will have a couple of options, each with customizable text:

  1. Set status to “Away” outside business hours – select YES.
  2. Enable Away Messages: This response will be sent to customers that send you a message after hours. You could say something like, “Thanks for messaging our page. We are currently closed but your message is important to us and we will get back to you shortly.”
  3. Send Instant Replies: This response will be sent to anyone who has sent you a Facebook message. A great suggestion would be, “Thank you for reaching out to us. Your message is very important to us and we will get back to you ASAP.”
