Another Great SuperTech Skills Competition!

Every year, hundreds of commercial truck technicians gather for a national competition testing their skills in repairing medium and heavy trucks. It’s called the SuperTech National Technician Skills Competition, and it’s the culmination of regional and state competitions held throughout the year. And what a great SuperTech it was! The event was part of the American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council conference held in Orlando, Florida.

Mitchell 1 is a sponsor of the annual event and runs the Service Information testing station, where competitors test their online service skills with Mitchell 1 TruckSeries repair information software for Class 4-8 trucks. We’ve been sponsors of the event and administrators of the Service Information station since the very beginning, 11 years ago. It’s always an honor to participate and spend time with these talented and dedicated service professionals.

Congratulations to Eric Vos, Grand Champion of TMC SuperTech 2015, from Boise ID and representing the FedEx Freight team. He won the overall competition and also joined Drew Dilmuth, from Jacksonville, Fla., to win the team competition. Eric won 2nd place in 2010, 2012 and 2014 and has competed nine times. Among the prizes Eric will receive as Grand Champion is a Snap-on toolbox branded with the 2015 SuperTech logo, and a complimentary subscription to TruckSeries.

We also want to congratulate Stephen Radford of Charlotte NC, representing Team Ryder (Ryder System Inc.), who had the highest score at the Service Information station, with 95 out of 100 correct answers. Earlier in the year, Stephen was named the 2015 Top Technician in the Ryder Top Tech Recognition Program, winning a brand new Corvette as the grand prize.
