You Never Forget a Customer’s Face… But Last Name Not So Much

Here he comes. It’s Steve…. or is it Stephen? You know the car, you know what’s been done to it service-wise, but you can’t think of the owner’s last name to save your life (and you’re kind of shaky on the spelling of the first name, too). You’d like to impress the customer by showing that you do remember him and looked him up to get an estimate started before he walked in the front door. If only there was a way to find customers by first name….

There is! All you need to do in Manager SE is click on New (or press F6 key) and – here’s the trick – enter a comma (‘,’) FIRST, then type a few letters (like S-T-E) and boom! There he is, Stephen Bertrand. Sure, you knew it all the time.

Here’s how it’s done: Type a comma (“,”) then a few letters of the first name. All of the first names that match those characters will be listed for you to select from. An example is shown below:
