Setup An IAP Vendor For Use With Activant or eStore Button

The customer (shop/installer) must be a registered service dealer on the IAP Administration website for the store’s distributor.  Every store (or warehouse) that is setup on IAP has a unique Internet website (URL) address.

If you know the URL for the store’s website, you can get 3 of the 5 required fields for setting up a vendor in Mitchell.

IAP supports the eStore, Activant, and FirstCall button.  It is up to the distributor or customer to decide which button to use.  Hint: If you are working with an eStore button and it doesn’t work, setup the vendor under the Activant button and try that (or vice versa).

For example:

Johns Auto Value a store under the Auto Parts Headquarters distributor has a website of:

  1. Seller Id = last part of the URL (Internet address) for the assigned store which is 411
  2. Vendor = 2nd to last part of the URL for the assigned store which is JHD
  3. Group = alliance

The username and password are setup by the distributor’s technical support group.  If the store or service dealer (installer/shop) don’t know the username or password, you would have to contact the distributor’s technical support group.

The store should know Internet website address (URL). If they don’t know it, they can ask the technical support for their distributor.
