Database Restore utility

The Database Restore Utility restores a backup of ManagerSE database automatically. Restoring a database in ManagerSE is completely different from Manager 5.9. It’s not as simple as a copy and paste. There are a few steps and needs SQL Server Management Studio Express installed on the computer (which is available on the install CD). This utility will do all the steps needed to restore a database in ManagerSE.

Before restoring an older backup of a database, please make a backup of the current database. The utility overwrites the current database during the restore process so it is important to have a backup. Here are the steps to restoring a backup database for ManagerSE:

  1. Make a copy of the current database located in C:\Program Files\M1-SK\Teamworks\Manager\Data. The file names are ShopMgt.mdf and ShopMgt_log.LDF. (the program must be closed on all computers when copying the database)
  2. Go to the Database Restore Utility found in C:\Program Files\M1-SK\Teamworks.
  3. Double click on DatabaseRestoreUtility.exe

  1. Click on the top button to restore shop management database. The bottom

restores the demo database mostly for use by Mitchell/Shopkey Reps.

  1. Locate the database backup. The default location is C:\Program Files\M1-SK\Teamworks\backup

  1. Select the correct database and click open. Database backup name is the same as Manager 5.9 which starts from d1 to d7 which is the days of the week starting with Sunday.
  1. Two WARNING messages will appear before the process begins.

  1. The next windows will show the completion percentage and database successfully being restored.

  1. Click OK and open the program to check the data.
